How to get a job in a surf camp

Surf camps hire for personality first. Show you can host, cook, drive a van or shoot photos — surfing well is a bonus, not a requirement.

Write short, direct emails with your availability, a photo and one line about why that camp. Apply three to four months before the season.

Most camps pay a small wage plus board, food and board use. Treat the first season as an entry ticket.
