Work Exchange

How does work exchange work?

How does work exchange work?

Work exchange means you give roughly 15–25 hours a week to a host — a hostel, farm, retreat or family — in exchange for accommodation and often food.

It is not paid work, so check your visa. Most travellers do it on a tourist visa for shorter stays.

The best exchanges are the ones where the host is clear about hours and expectations before you arrive.
